1. Alego, Angelo


Angelo ALEGO/ALEO(1) was born on 21 December 1878 in Italy. (2) Angelo married Mary Crakanzano in Italy.(2,3,6)  Angelo immigrated about 1905, according to census records.(3,4) He appeared in the census in 1910 in Oakley, Wyoming living as a married “boarder” and working as a coal miner.(4)  Angelo then appears in the census in 1920 in Kemmerer, Wyoming living with his wife Mary, their five children and three “roomers” or boarders.(3)  One boarder in 1920 was a man by the name of Marion Pernice, who would marry Angelo’s daughter Stella in 1920, and become fellow victim of the Frontier Coal Mine No. 1 coal mining disaster.  Angelo worked as a coal miner for at least 13 years.(2,3,4)  Angelo died in the gas explosion in Frontier No. 1 coal mine on 14 August 1923 at the age of 44 in Frontier, Wyoming.(2,14)  He was buried on 16 August 1923 in the Kemmerer City Cemetery.(2)

2. Alego, Joseph (Gioseppo)

Gioseppo "Joe" ALEGO was born on 25 March 1882 in Italy.(1,2,3,6)  About 1905 Joe married a woman named Kate in Italy.(4,5)   According to census records, Joe immigrated in 1907.(4)  He appeared in the census in 1910 in Manhattan, New York, with his wife and one child.(5)  Joe then appeared in the census in 1920 along with his wife Kate and their four children, in Lincoln County, Wyoming. (4)  He died in a gas explosion in Frontier No. 1 coal mine on 14 August 1923 at the age of 41 in Frontier, Wyoming.(2,3,6)  He was buried on 18 August 1923 in the Kemmerer City Cemetery.(2,3)

6. Bebber, Attilio


Attilio BEBBER (1,5) was born on 22 October 1881 in Eyrol, Bosio, Austria.(2,4)  He immigrated on 4 March 1913 from Le Havre to New York sailing on the S. S. Rochambeau.(3)  On the passenger manifest, he listed his brother, Egido of Rock Springs, Wyoming as his final destination.(3)  At the time of his immigration, Attilio was married to Maria who remained in Bosco, Eyrol, Austria.(3) As an undeclared alien, Attilio submitted draft registration cards for WWI on 12 September 1918 in Sweetwater County, Wyoming.(4)  Attilio worked for the Megeath Coal Company in Rock Springs in 1918.(4) He was described as tall and slender with brown hair and brown eyes.(4)  Eventually the Bebber brothers moved to Frontier and worked as coal miners for the Kemmerer Coal Company where upon they both died in a gas explosion in Frontier No. 1 coal mine on 14 August 1923.(2)  Attilio was 41 years old.   He was buried on 17 August 1923 in the Kemmerer City Cemetery.(2)

13. Christensen, Carl


Carl CHRISTENSEN(1,7) was born on 23 December 1893 in Widstrup, Hjorring, Denmark to John Christensen and Hilder Hudela.(2,4) He emigrated on the ship Olympia sailing from South Hampton, England leaving on 23 May 1914 and arriving in New York on the 29 May 1914.(4) Carl submitted draft registration cards for WWI on 5 June 1917 in Labarge, Wyoming while working for Salman Brothers as a sheep herder in the Kemmerer area.(3) Carl had blue eyes and was medium height and slender build.(3)  Carl was naturalized on 29 August 1918 in Tacoma, Pierce, Washington where he was employed as a soldier living in Camp Lewis.(5) Carl was a private in the13th Sanitary Train 13 Division in WWI.(6)  He appeared in the census in 1920 in Lincoln County, Wyoming, living as a boarder and working as a coal miner.(5)   He died in a gas explosion in Frontier No. 1 coal mine on 14 August 1923 at the age of 29 in Frontier, Wyoming.(2) Carl was buried on 17 August 1923 in the Kemmerer City Cemetery.(2,6)  He was single.(2,4,5)

18. Desanti, Henry Enrico


Enrico "Henry" DESANTI(1,2)  was born on 21 Nov 1882 in Italy.(3,4,5) He immigrated in 1901.(6) Henry married a woman named Elvira, it is unknown when or where they married.(5,6)  He submitted draft registration cards for WWI on 12 September 1918 in Lincoln County, Wyoming where he was working as a coal miner for the Kemmerer Coal Company.(5)    Henry was medium height, slender build with gray eyes and dark brown hair. (5)  Henry appeared in the census in 1920 in Lincoln County, Wyoming with his wife and three children.(6)  He died in a gas explosion in Frontier No. 1 coal mine on 14 August 1923 at the age of 40 in Frontier, Wyoming.(3)   He was buried on 17 August 1923 in the Kemmerer City cemetery.(3,4)

19. Dodorico, Felix


Felice "Felix" D'ODORICO(1,2) was born in 1897 in S. Quirino, Udini, Italy to Celste D'ODORICO and Gudita CATARUY.(3,4)   On 24 Jan 1921 Felix with his cousin, Oswaldo, immigrated to New York.(4)  Felix and Oswald’s final destination was their cousin, Domenico D’ODORICO in Perins, Colorado.(4)  Felix was 5”10’ with a fair complexion and he had brown eyes and brown hair.(4)  Eventually the two cousins were hired by the Kemmerer Coal Company and worked in Frontier, Wyoming as coal miners.  Felix aged 26, and his cousin Oswaldo were killed in a gas explosion in Frontier No. 1 coal mine on 14 August 1923.(3) Felix was buried on 17 August 1923 in the Kemmerer City Cemetery.(3)  He was single.(3)

20. Dodorico, Oswaldo


Oswaldo D'ODORICO(1,2) was born about 1903 in S. Quirino, Udini, Italy his mother was Pierina Gioletti, his father’s name is unknown.(3,4)  Oswaldo immigrated  on 24 January 1921 arriving in New York.(4)  Oswaldo immigrated with his cousin Felice D'ODORICO sailing on the ship Argentina.(4)  Felix and Oswald’s final destination was their cousin, Domenico D’ODORICO in Perins, Colorado.(4) Oswaldo was 5’8” with a fair complexion and blue eyes.(4)  Eventually the two cousins were hired by the Kemmerer Coal Company and worked in Frontier, Wyoming as coal miners.  Oswaldo, age 20, and Felix were killed in a gas  explosion in Frontier No. 1 coal mine on 14 August 1923 in Frontier, Wyoming.(3)  He was buried on 18 August 1923 in the Kemmerer City Cemetery.(3)

28. Forsman, Emil



Emil FORSMAN(1-2)  was born on 18 March 1892 in Hango, Finland.(3-5)  He immigrated on 21 June 1906 to New York.(4)  On 15 July 1911 in Kemmerer at the home of Ivan S. Jones, Esq., Emil married Fanny Marie Hirvi who was born in Lohtaja, Finland.(7)  He was naturalized on 12 June 1915 in Lincoln County, Wyoming.(4)  Emil submitted draft registration cards for WWI on 5 June 1917 in Butte, Silver Bow, Montana where he was working as a miner at the Black Rock Mine.(5)   Emil was described as being tall, medium build with blue eyes and light hair.(5)  He appeared in the census in 1920 in Newcastle, Washington with his wife Fanny, daughter and brother-in-law John Hirvi.(6)   He died in a gas explosion in Frontier No. 1 coal mine on 14 August 1923 at the age of 31 in Frontier, Wyoming on his daughter’s 10th birthday.(3-4)  Emil was buried on 17 August 1923 in Kemmerer, Wyoming.(3)  Emil was survived by his wife and one daughter.

30. Georges, John

John GEORGES(1-2) was born on 7 June 1887 in Locuna, Italy.(3-4)  He immigrated in 1905.(5)  He submitted draft registration cards for WWI on 5 Jun 1917 in Lincoln County, Wyoming while living in Sublet.(4)  John was described as medium height and medium build, with brown eyes and black hair.(4)  John appeared in the census in 1920 in Lincoln County, Wyoming with his wife Antonia and three children.(5)  He died in a gas explosion in Frontier No. 1 coal mine on 14 August 1923 at the age of 36 in Frontier, Wyoming.(3)  He was buried on 17 August 1923 in Kemmerer, Wyoming.(3)

33. Hagi, C.


O C HAGI(1-2)  was born about 1872 in Japan.(3-4)  He immigrated in March 1900 to Seattle, Washington.(4-5)  He appeared, with his wife and son, in the census in 1920 in Lincoln County, Wyoming.(4)  In 1920 Hagi and his son were working at the coal mine as a laborers.(4)  Hagi died in a gas explosion in Frontier No. 1 coal mine on 14 August 1923 at the age of 51 in Frontier, Wyoming.(3)   He was buried on 17 August 1923 in the Kemmerer City Cemetery.(3)  Hagi was married to Tsuru, who was born 14 October 1884, in Kandamura, Kagawaken, Japan.(4-6) 

(It is unconfirmed at this time if the two coal miners, O. Hagi and O.T. Hagi are related.)

Henry John KANGAS(1-2) was born on 16 December 1889 in Lapingula, Finland.(3-2)  He submitted draft registration cards for WWI on 5 June 1917 in Frontier, Wyoming.(4)  Henry served in the military Pvt. Coast Art. Corps.(5) He was naturalized and was of medium height and medium build with brown eyes and light hair.(4)  He died in a gas explosion in Frontier No. 1 coal mine on 14 August 1923 at the age of 33 in Frontier.(3-5) Henry was buried on 16 August 1923 in Kemmerer, Wyoming.(3-5) He was single.(3)

 KAWAHARA(1-2)  was born in 1888 in Japan.(3)   He immigrated about 1905.(4-5) He appeared in the census in 1910 in Santa Clara, Huerfano, Colorado where he was living as a “boarder” and working as a coal miner.(5) Kawahara appeared in the census in 1920 in Lincoln County, Wyoming where he was living with Mr. K. Sugari and Kawahara was working as a coal miner.(4) He died in a gas explosion in Frontier No. 1 coal mine on 14 August 1923 at the age of 35 in Frontier, Lincoln, Wyoming.(3,6) He was buried on 16 August 1923 in Kemmerer.(3,6) He was single.(3-4)

Marco MAJNINO(1-2) was born on 27 January 1886 in Bagnacavallo, Ravenna, Italy to Mr. Majnino and Emilia PASQUALI.(3-5)  He immigrated on 8 September 1922 to New York.(5)   He sailed on the ship the America, leaving the port of Genoa, Italy.(5)  Marco paid passage by himself and was in the U.S. previously during 1914 in New Castle, Pennsylvania.(5)  Waiting at Marco’s final destination was his brother-in-law Manzani SERAFINO, New Castle, Pa, 826 Chestnut Street.(5) Marco died in a gas explosion in Frontier No. 1 coal mine on 14 August 1923 at the age of 37 in Frontier, Wyoming.(3-4)  Marco was buried on 17 August 1923 in Kemmerer, Wyoming.(4) He was single.(4)

(4)   He was of medium height and medium build with brown eyes and brown hair.(4)    Max appeared in the census in 1920 in Frontier, Wyoming where he was living in Pete Rizzi’s home as a “roomer” along with Julius Menapace.(5)  He died in a gas explosion in Frontier No. 1 coal mine on 14 August 1923 at the age of 39 in Frontier.(3-4)  He was buried on 17 August 1923 in the Kemmerer City Cemetery.(3)  He was single.(3)
