94. Wainwright, Joe, Jr.

Joseph WAINWRIGHT, Jr.(1–2) was born on 24 December 1903 in Uinta County, Wyoming to Joseph Wainwright, Sr. and Harriet Cordelia ROCK.(3-4,6,11-12)  He appeared in the census in 1910 in Cumberland, Uinta, Wyoming with his parents and five siblings.(4) At age 16, Joe appeared in the census in 1920 in Kemmerer, Lincoln, Wyoming with his parents and siblings and he was working as a laborer at the railroad.(5)  Joseph, and his father, died in a gas explosion in Frontier No. 1 coal mine on 14 August 1923 in Frontier, Wyoming.(3,6)  Joe was 19 years old at the time of his death.(3,6)  He was buried on 17 August 1923 in Kemmerer, Wyoming.(3,6)  He was single at the time of his death.(6)

Harriet was left to mourn her husband and her son who were both killed that morning.
